Voodoo Chicken Pizza
Our own find — and we’d order it again.
We’d never been to this location, so Andy headed over for lunch. First off, what a cool vibe! Straight from the 50s with a beautiful bar area with TVs and matching comfy red booths. And the place gets a five-point bonus for great music. Anytime a song from Madness is played, that’s an auto bonus. But the pizza? This was a real shocker. We hadn’t had pizza at a Salty Dog in many years, so Andy wasn’t expecting much. That lasted about one bite. We don’t know exactly where the chef found the sauce recipe (Hawaii is the word we got), but dang. Andy usually doesn’t go for a pizza without a red sauce base of some kind, but this is now the exception. So zesty and flavorful, with a healthy little kick to it. Absolutely delicious. And the crust was not thin, on the medium side, and cooked just right. The only downside is it will be nearly impossible for Andy to try another dish on our next visit. It’ll be on Jill’s shoulders to further explore the menu!
